About

I’m an engineer and technology executive. My career has moved from frontline operations to software and infrastructure, then company-wide technology leadership. I write about software, AI, engineering judgment, and how we organize work.

Before software, I was a package handler and then a supervisor at UPS, responsible for a workgroup’s safety, production, and attendance. That remains the starting point for how I think about technology: the work people need to do, the systems they depend on, and the outcome someone must own.

I moved through quality engineering and software development into cloud infrastructure and reliability work. At Engine Yard I architected and led development of the cloud API; at Fastly I worked across backend systems, data infrastructure, and site reliability.

Today I’m Chief Technology Officer at EasyPost. I joined as an engineer in 2019 and moved through engineering management and platform leadership before taking responsibility for technology strategy across product, platform, data, and infrastructure.

The scope has changed, but the question has not: what prevents a system from producing the result it exists to deliver? Sometimes the answer is architecture. Sometimes it is ownership, data quality, incentives, or work that should simply stop.

I’m based in Oakland, California, and hold a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
